As you can imagine, the delivery of large pieces of furniture is not always as easy and straightforward as we would like.
It is really important for a pain-free delivery that you have a good look at the inside and outside of your house, looking especially at tight areas such as corridors, narrow doorways and staircases. Outside, please check your lane, your drive, overhanging trees to flag up any possible difficulties before we set out to deliver your furniture.
Forewarned is forearmed and with the right information, both you and we can be well prepared in advance to manage tricky access without tears.
Check for fragile items outside that should be moved before delivery: statuary, flower pots, bird tables, urns, hanging lanterns and so on.
Inside the house and staircase if necessary, take-down any valuable paintings, mirrors or bric-a-brac that could be damaged en route.
In short, we very much hope you will take responsibility for giving us the clearest possible access through your home. This protects both your home and your belongings.
There is a risk that when we are making every effort to get your furniture in through a narrow space, your paintwork, wallpaper and woodwork could be damaged. We will endeavor in these situations to ask your permission first.
Another good idea is to cover all valuable carpets or runners that could be damaged in the process of delivery with dust sheets, polythene or newspaper.
Our delivery teams have many years experience, and we can if necessary often remove windows and doors, and deliver via a balcony. Specialist equipment may be necessary which we do not carry in our vans, so if you want this service please let us know in advance and we will let you know what it will cost.
Finally, sofas and beds are bulky items, and hallways are often narrow places. This is why we need you to sign an agreement indemnifying the delivery team and Sofas & Stuff against any damage to either furniture or property, before we can place your gorgeous new sofa exactly where you want it.
