After having been very uninspired after visiting the large High Street sofa chains we visited the Sofas and Stuff barn showroom in Fittleworth in June.
We had a good idea of which style of sofas we wanted and as soon as we walked through the door we had spotted the one, however on looking around the showroom there were several styles which really jumped out.
We were greeted by Mandy who was fantastic, she seemed to have all the time in the world for us, no pressure and very knowledgable. She talked us through the two types of sofas in which we were interested and the options available to us and then helped us with the huge range of fabrics on offer.
We went away to think about the options and returned the following weekend when we ordered a sofa and an armchair which were completely different to the style which we had first imagined. Again Mandy had so much time for us and have to say she is a fantastic asset to Sofas and Stuff (her colleague, although we did not deal with her, seemed equally friendly and knowledgable too).
We were told that the delivery date was in five weeks and exactly five weeks later the sofa and armchair arrived here at the cottage. The delivery men gave a slot of between 0930 - 1130 and at 1030 they arrived, unwrapped the items, placed them where I asked, set both the sofa and armchair up beautifully and cleared the small amount of mess.
The sofa and armchair have been here for a week and we are so pleased! They are exactly what we asked for, so well made, comfortable and look just perfect next to the open fire.
I would have absolutely no hesitation about using Sofas & Stuff again, I would recommend them wholeheartedly to any of my friends or family who are looking for gorgeous, quality items from a very professionally run company.

Sofas and Stuff do occassionaly make a mistake and this was one of them this was rectified very quickly -
Ordered 3 pieces of furniture after very helpful advice and patience from staff.
Unfortunately the fabric covering ordered for one piece had long been discontinued by manufacturer so a refund for part of order was requested until we sorted out alternative fabric. Instead of crediting my credit card account, I discovered that a repeat transaction had been processed. This resulted in me owing the credit card company some £5000+. The total order was finally sorted out and I am generally happy with the quality of the furniture

We recently bought 2 Alwinton sofas from sofas and stuff and have been very pleased with the whole experience. In the showroom, there was plenty of choice of styles and materials and the staff were very helpful, not to mention patient, as we took our time deciding on which combination to have.
Once ordered, the sofas were delivered on time and now look and feel great in situ in our living room. The prices are a little higher than some other popular retailers but you get what you pay for and these are stylish, well made sofas. Chuffed.

Really love our new Alwinton sofa - it looks fabulous! Having seen it first on the internet we discovered there was a showroom only 20 minutes away in Fittleworth so we went to have a look. The selection and quality of the sofas was really good and the staff were very helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable. Delivery was within the estimated time frame given when the order was placed and on the day arrived within the time slot allocated.
We are now thinking of ordering a footstool to match. Extremely satisfied with Sofas & Stuff and would definitely recommend.

Just wanted to let you know that the sofa arrived safely and we are DELIGHTED with it, best bit of furniture we have ever bought!! Everyone admires it.
And,better still, the delivery guys took the old one away. When it was delivered it had to come in through the window as the doorway was said to be too narrow but they managed to get it out via the door without difficulty!

We approached buying a new sofa with trepidation as we have got it so badly wrong in the past.
When we moved to our cottage we ordered a sofa which when delivered would not fit through the front door. We had to remove the window to get it in but even then it was too big for the room.
However we need not have worried because right from the start Sofas & Stuff have been brilliant. We visited the showroom near Hungerford and were impressed by the staff as well as the furniture and the prices. Every question was professionally answered and advice given on how to ensure that the sofa we chose would fit through the door.
The sofa arrived on time and was delivered within the 2 hour time slot by 2 men, who not only got the new sofa in but also incredibly managed to remove our old one through the front door!!
We are absolutely delighted by the design and quality of the new sofa which has transformed our sitting room.
What a joy to find a company who enage with you and fulfil their promises

A really friendly and personal company to deal with without any high pressure sales techniques.
They cope well with all manner of questions and requests for unusual dimensions and variations whilst offering great coffee on tap.
The sofas are excellent quality and come in a wide variety of stylish designs.
We now have 3 sofas, 2 in a holiday cottage which still look perfect after 2 years constant use and now a further 1 in our own home.
Great delivery and after sales service too.
Highly recommended and I would look no further for sofas now.

I have been meaning to drop you a line to thank you for all your spot-on advice with the furniture order for our bolthole in Norfolk.
The fabrics you suggested for the chair and sofa work brilliantly, and are a good foil for the wing chair in the moon fabric. We are very impressed with the quality of the pieces - plus also the delivery service. It could not have been a worse day when they arrived, but the guys appeared with covers for the carpets and were careful to wipe everything down as they unpacked. They were superb.

Our sofa arrived today on the day and time of arrival given. The service was brilliant as was the whole procedure - from firstly a great website, a visit to the showroom, help and advice regarding different fabrics from the ?manageress, the processing of the order - all were terrific and finally the sofa when delivered is perfect. Having seen it in situ, we will be back to order a matching chair in the next week or so.

Excellent service, buying a sofa was never so easy.
The whole experience of buying a sofa was easy and pain free. The entire range of sofas were on display with every swatch available to help me choose exactly what I wanted. The sales person was very helpful and knew what she was talking about, offering advise when needed. I now have a lovely, high quality ,British made sofa that is a dream to sit on.

I went to The Barn at Fittleworth twice before ordering my two sofas, which have been much admired and envied by my friends! I've recently moved down a coastal track and hats off to the delivery guys who found the cottage and were very helpful.

We visited Sofas & Stuff in their delightful Fittleworth showroom, near Petworth, West Sussex. The showroom is a beautifully converted barn and it made for a great setting to view the sofa's this company offers. We soon fell in love with one particular sofa and chose our fabric from the extensive selection. We placed our order and were given an approximate delivery time which turned out to be surprisingly accurate. We were kept updated at every stage throughout the order and delivery process, the customer service was excellent.
I was impressed by the level of help & advice we were given, the staff were knowledgeable & they listened to us and answered our questions, they went out of their way to help with fabric choices and advice.

The delivery of the 2 sofas ordered went very smoothly and were delivered at the time confirmed. Both men were very polite and careful with the furniture which was taken into the correct room,unpacked,taking all packaging away. We have been pleased with the service we have received from Sofas and Stuff from the showroom to delivery. The sofas seemed a little hard at first but have now softened a bit and are now very comfortable as well as looking good! I would not hesitate to use your company again or to recommend you in the future.

Beautiful sofas, competitively priced, lovely showroom
We visited the barn in Fittleworth, West Sussex. Fabulous selection of sofas, helpful but unobtrusive sales people. They gave great advice. I ended up ordering an armchair I didn't even know I wanted as it was so comfortable. We were really impressed with the value too. We waited just over six weeks for delivery, as advised. The delivery people were polite and efficient, even when they had to remove the doorframe to get our new armchair in. We absolutely adore our new furniture.

We saw the style we liked in John Lewis but the squish looking sofa was uncomfortable with too deep a seat and sloped back. I found a similar style (Alwinton) on the Sofas and Stuff and the seat depth was slightly less so we headed off to Hungerford. There were plenty of display models so we could try the even narrower seat depth (we decided against this) and we could see a wide range of fabric on other models. After helpful advice we ordered two large Alwinton sofas. They arrived yesterday during the 2 hour window we were promised.
The experience at the showroom led me to recommend Sofas and Stuff to my elderly parents who are downsizing and find shopping on the modern high street a trial. They do not have internet access but I printed off the page with the selection of small sofas and showed them my fabric samples. They recently visited the Harrogate showroom and ordered a Petworth snuggler and I hope they are as pleased as we are when their order arrives.

Read about Sofas and Stuff in a magazine and saw the sofa we liked the look of. We were checking out all sorts of sites but like the look and feel of the website and the fact that the products were all British made. After taking a very long drive out to the Tunbridge Wells branch, all our thoughts were confirmed. The lovely Lady who ran the barn was so friendly and more than helpful with time, energy and advice, without being at all pushy. Just interested and keen to help us find a solution. She gave us a good quote, didn't look down on us when we talked of a limited budget but rather helped us get what we want within our limited budget. The next few days saw a myriad of samples arrive through the post. We took a long time to order as we had just moved and life was hectic and when we did, even the fact that the factory closed for two weeks for summer was not a problem. It was worth the wait. The sofa was delivered without any fuss or sucking of teeth by some really helpful guys and our sofa is now firmly ensconced, part of the family, looks and feels wonderful.
We are so very happy with it and with dealing with Sofas & Stuff.
I can't rate this company high enough and feel more people should know about them, so do trust the good reviews and buy your sofa from them.
I put my priceometer at average because they are not a budget, cheap company but not a snooty over priced company either. I think their prices are competitive and yes, if expensive for some, well you get what you pay for and the expense is really worth it.
So average means, I find their prices sit well in the marketplace.

I bought a Kentwell sofa and Alwinton armchair from you earlier this summer which we were absolutely delighted with, and needed some cushion inspiration for the finishing touches. We wanted a seaside theme – but something classy not twee. Claire at Harrogate clearly knows her fabrics and pointed us in the right direction in our search for a coastal theme – something classy, and not too twee. We are delighted with the results – and again really impressed with the complete end-to-end customer service you provide.

Sofa So Good!
Very pleased with my sofa and armchair which are exactly what I wanted and arrived well in time for Christmas. Our house was flooded on 23rd December but, as I had decided on a sofa with legs, the water did not damage the furniture and Having its legs in water has not made any difference

”I am grateful for the excellent service.
However I am disappointed with the comfort. I went for the upgrade option of an additional £50 for feather cushions. I took this option on a previous sofa and was prepared to pay the price of puffing up the cushions in return for the added comfort.
Yet I sense that despite the factt that I did not compromise on cost, the company have compromised on the quality of the feathers provided. I was told that this is not a common option and belatedly I understand why. For a £3,000 ish sofa I find that there is hardly any give when I sit on the sofa. I would like to think that the sofa can be worn in but I sense and fear that a compromise has been made over the quality and that there will continue to be a rather too firm. The flipside is that there is so little give, the cushions rarely need to be puffed up....”

After visiting the Parsons Green showroom and getting great service (I asked lots of questions!) I ordered two sofas. Both arrived before Christmas as promised. They were delivered on time and quickly put in place/put together by the two delivery men. Also arrived with a small box of care products which I didn't expect. They look fantastic and when we do our other lounge I'll be going back.

Unfriendly, in a rush, made me feel uncomfortable and instead of turning around in my cul de sac, decided to mount the pavement. At no time did these guys ask me if I was happy with sofas

My wife and I visited the Parsons Green showroom on a number of occasions and each time Nadia was very friendly and helpful, offering practical advice. There was an excellent range of fabrics to choose from and we ordered a sofa for delivery before Christmas. Although it was a busy period Sofas & Stuff kept to the delivery date they gave us so we had the pleasure of a new piece of furniture over the holiday period. We were so pleased with our purchase that we followed up in early January with an order for a pair of non matching armchairs.
We have just taken delivery and we are even more pleased with these two pieces than we were with the sofa.
Sofas & Stuff supply quality furniture and all the staff we dealt with (Parsons Green showroom, head office and delivery men) were polite, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. We recommend the company to our friends who admire our new furniture and would do not hesitate to to do the same to anyone reading this review.

I love my sofa - I needed a small sofa for a little cottage and chose the alwinton compact - it fits perfectly and whilst not large it comfortably seats 2, unlike some of the other shops I looked at before I found sofas and stuff.
The service at the barn was excellent - I wanted to use fabric of my own that I already had, which was no problem - again unlike other shops - and at a reasonable price. Suzanne was very patient and helped me find my fabric in one of the fabric books, to check its suitabiity, as I couldnt remember its name.
The delivery team were very good - I live in a small lane but they happy to wheel my sofa down to the house and didnt mind the slightly awkward entry to the house (narrow access) - all without any grumbles.
Overall an excellent experience shopping with sofas and stuff - definitely a 5 out of 5 and would definitley recommend and buy again if the need arises. Thank you!

We visited the Tunbridge Wells showroom as this is closest to us. We were able to ask questions with absolutely no sales pressure or hassle.
Loads of styles and materials to choose from and plenty of swatches available to take back and consider at home. We visited the shoproom twice over a period so made sure we had the right final choice. Also looked in lots of other stores, in magazines and and online but nothing came close. Service throughout was exemplary - great communication and friendly support.
We ordered the Arlington extra big sofa in pale blue stripe - it is amazing and is exactly what we wanted!! We get compliments all the time and it exactly suits our new home. We have now purchased 2 matching armchairs.
Can't recommend Sofas and Stuff more highly - only wish we had more money and spare rooms to buy more!

After viewing some sofas via the Internet we sent an email and received a prompt reply answering our questions. As a result my husband and I visited the shop in Parsons Green where we received a very warm welcome and were offered coffee and biscuits.
After sitting on a number of sofas we decided to buy the ones we had seen on the Internet. There was a significant range of fabrics and legs so it did not take long to find something suitable.
Placing the order was straightforward and we were advised the sofas would take 5 weeks for delivery. We received an email just before the 5 weeks were up advising the sofas were ready for delivery and delivery was then arranged for the following week.
The sofas turned up on the day as planned and were set up by two very friendly delivery guys. The sofas look excellent in our living room and as an added bonus came with 4 scatter cushions which we had not expected.
I would definitely recommend sofas & stuff and give the team a rating of 5 out of 5.
