As we have said before, and will say again, moodboards are definitely a starting point to any interior decoration. They give you ultimate insight into how colours, textiles and themes will work together. Katie Sellers has put together a series of beautiful moodboards to illustrate how you can create gorgeous and stylish interiors with the colours and textiles that Sofas & Stuff have to offer.

The series of moodboards are based around three key the trends; florals, bold and bright colour contrasts (ditsy) and neutrals. These three trends have taken the interior design industry by storm in 2016. Florals has been a major trend throughout the spring and summer of 2016, with people opting to bring the outside into their homes with the gorgeous colours and patterns that cover floral fabric. Bold and bright colour contrasts (ditsy) are being seen everywhere in interiors, colourful velvets are seeing a rise in popularity with this trend. And lastly neutral interiors have been popular for years; this year pastel colours are making an appearance in many neutral interiors.

Florals

Katie Sellers says: “A combination of playful florals with both deep and pale colour as accents are a beautiful combination to have in your home. This moodboard collection has a painterly, abstract feel which is bold in both its use of texture, scale and pattern making.”

Katie combined fabrics that are available to upholster any of the handmade bespoke range at Sofas & Stuff with Peignoir paint, Cromarty & Nancy’s Blushes paint by Farrow & Ball and Burlington Arcade paint by Mylands to create these stunning moodboards.

Ditsy

Katie Sellers says: “I think detailed prints and ditsy patterns offer an eclectic way of clashing motifs, anchored again with both saturated and subtle plains. Embellished surfaces add eye-catching and tactile intrigue to a space.”

Katie used fabrics that are available to upholster any of the handmade bespoke range at Sofas & Stuff with Yellow Cake paint, Arsenic & Patch Blue paint by Farrow & Ball to create this fantastic collection of moodboards inspired by the bold and bright colour contrast trend.

Neutrals

Katie Sellers says: “Traditional textile skills create recognisable stripes and checks with a distressed appearance. This is a liveable neutral palette whose subtle imperfections offer a relaxed way of living and all sit well together due to their shared natural tones.”

Katie combined fabrics that are available to upholster any of the handmade bespoke range at Sofas & Stuff with French Grey & Lead paint by The Little Greene Paint Company and Donkey Ride paint by Earthborne Paints to create the gorgeous neutral moodboards.

This stunning series of moodboards was created by Katie Sellers to show the beautiful interiors that can be created with the trends of 2016.
