It seems only moments ago that we wrote the last edition of
Friday Finds for December - how time flies when you're having fun!
We just hope that your Christmas was as fun filled as ours was. So
to mark the beginning of what we hope will be a wonderful year, we
bring you the first edition of Friday Finds for 2012 - stuffed full
of our favourite finds from the last month, which we have hunted
out from the furthest corners of the web.
Nestrest

First up is one of our favourites for this month, the
Nestrest - we just want to hang these all over the garden.
These gorgeous little pods are described by their creators, Daniel
Pouzet and Fred Frety, as an 'oversized birds nest' and we think
they are just fabulous.
We just have one question - what do you do when you want to get
out of this particular Nestrest? Swim or jump? We're still not
sure…
Google Maps Envelopes

Ever wonder the journey your mail has been on to reach you?
Well, now you can with these ingenious
Google Maps Envelopes. Each envelope is covered in screen shots
from Google Maps, showing the point of origin and point of delivery
for each letter. Unfortunately, they are only in concept stage at
the moment but we are waited with bated breath for when these get
unleashed on the public.
Word Clock

This clock turns traditional time keeping on its head with not
one actual number being used in this design. We just love this
innovative take on time telling and whilst some of the more
'off-the-wall' design concepts don't really float our boat, this
one ticks all the boxes. We'd love to know who designed this, so if
you have any insider info, get in touch- we found it here.
Balloon Vase

Another bit of quirky design for you to feast on and this time
it's the rather wonderful 'Balloon
Vase', designed by Scandanavian student, Corey Green. The idea
is simple really, place your flowers in the vase and then over the
next few days, the balloon will inflate as the flowers release
oxygen and carbon dioxide. Sure, it's a little bit gimmicky but we
still love the idea all the same.
The Most Beautiful Wedding
Invitation

Ok, we'll put our hands up and admit that this doesn't really
relate to furniture or interior design but we still had to include
it in our post, because we just can't pass up such a piece of creative genius. Everything about
this is just so perfect with an added sprinkling of fun - the use
of typography and flowing lines is second to none. Take a look and
we're sure you'll see why we had to include this in our latest
edition of Friday Finds.
Well, that's all for now - our own personal round up of the best
of the internet over the last month. We've started adding all our
Friday Finds to a special Pinterest
board so make sure you jump over and look at our ever growing
collection of pins. And, of course if you think we've missed an
absolute gem then leave us a comment or send us a tweet.
