After all, we just sent one of our chairs 10,000 miles around
the world in the back of an ambulance to help raise money for Tildy's
Trust.

So when we got the opportunity to partner with the weavers of
Bolivia to create a set of 100% original one-off sofa designs you
can bet we leapt at the chance. Our design director Andrew Cussins
was particularly excited by the prospect of this collection - "in a
world where "standard"" seems to be de rigeur, where mass produced
and shiny, is all the rage, where global is everything, and
everything looks the same, we think that the key trend in the
current zeitgeist, is that of handmade, unique, one off and
local."

Traditional Bolivian fabrics use 100% natural dyes; yet contain
some of the most vibrant colours. If you're a fan of bright
palettes and bold stripes, this new collection is going to be right
up your street. Not only that, every single sofa, chair, cushion
and stool is different thanks to the traditional techniques used.
Not a range for the shrinking violets amongst you, a piece from
this collection will really make a statement in your home.

To make the collection a reality we partnered with Claudia de
Rubin de Celis, a Bolivian architect and interior designer, and her
husband Louis Vinycomb. They helped our design team discover how
Andean textiles such as blankets could be re-imagined as beautiful
furnishings for our furniture. Not only are the end results totally
stunning, by investing in the collection you're also supporting
endangered livelihoods and helping to keep traditional skills
alive.

The collection was launched with a private view, held at the
Bolivian Embassy in London. The team rubbed shoulders with
diplomats and journalists at this suitably glitzy evening, which
not only launched the collection but also celebrated the
authenticity and provenance of these pieces.
