We write about all sorts of things on this blog - our latest
interiors inspirations and design finds but quite surprisingly, we
haven't written much about sofas. So we thought it was high time we
starting sharing all of our know how on this subject matter,
proving to you why we really are the experts in comfort.

And no one knows a good sofa better than our design director,
Andrew Cussins so he thought he would share his thoughts on what
makes a truly great sofa.
There are three main things that you should look for in a new
sofa - eye appeal, bum appeal and pocket appeal. How does it look?
Is it comfortable? And is it great value?
All of our sofas are designed to tick all these boxes with a
real focus on being timeless - another very important factor when
choosing the sofa of your dreams. Sofas should not be bought for a
few seasons; they are supposed to grow old or older with you.

But how can you make sure your sofa ages as gracefully as you?
It all comes down to the quality of the materials. Choosing natural
fabrics helps as they age much better than man made fibres, which
just wear out. As for leather sofas, good quality leathers age and
gain patina as a result of how you use them, giving you even more
excuse to get maximum sofa time.
It's not all down to the material though, it's also about
choosig a timeless shape and design. Classic graceful shapes suit
the British housing stock and our lifestyles. They are comforting
and welcoming and not all hard edged and aggressive like some of
Italian cousins.

Ardmore
Leather Sofa
Andy sums it up very well here:
"We want our sofas to say something about us, and generally we
like that to be laid back good taste. Taste always lasts, fashion
is gone in a few months"
But what do the rest of the team at Sofas and Stuff think makes
a great sofa? They couldn't wait to share their thoughts with
you…
"Great lines with serious flopability"
"One that makes all my friends jealous!!!"
"Massive cushions that you can sink into with plenty of
depth"
"A sofa I can fall asleep in after Sunday lunch"
"One you can imagine living with for years"
